Easter Activities – Fun For All The Family!

I love this time of year – there’s always something going on and something to make! Children love joining in the celebrations and getting really creative, so I’ve put together some ideas for quick and easy activities you can do at home with your child, and most of them take hardly any preparation or extra materials! Perfect!

1. Egg Decorating!

It’s an oldie but a goodie. Sing the song “Humpty Dumpty” with your little ones and talk about what happened to him after he fell off the wall. Show some pictures on the internet of the traditional egg style Humpty, and talk about how eggs need handling with care. To blow out your egg, prick largish holes at either end with a needle or tooth pick, holding the egg steady blow through the top hole and everything should come out of the bottom hole. When it’s dry, paint your egg either as Humpty, or with swirly patterns to resemble an Easter egg! Leave to dry in egg cartons.

2. Make An Easter Bunny!

Using half a kitchen roll, cut two strips off the top of the roll to make ears and stick on the top of the roll (tip, flatten the roll out using clothes pegs). Next paint the rolls and allow to dry. Finally draw on some eyes, a nose and stick on a cotton wool tail to complete your Easter Bunny. You can always seal the bottom of the roll so that you can add some wrapped small chocolate eggs inside.

3. Make Your Very Own Easter Cone Animal

Simply print out one of our Easter Cone Animal templates, colour in and make, DONE!

4. Make Some Lollipop Chicks!

Choose a yellow lolly (leaving the wrapper on!) and stick on tiny eyes and a beak, oh and don’t forget the feet too! If you make a few Lollipop Chicks you can make a table centre piece for your Easter party!

5. Easter Egg Colouring Templates

Not really a craft activity, but sometimes everyone needs some down time with a spot of colouring in! Download one of our Easter Egg Templates colouring sheets and perfect your designs – this is also one of our FREE resources.
